After reading this paragraph, you will know what components of the paper must be included to confirm the purchase and sale transaction:

  • The first thing you need to know is that the official certification of documents and the presence of the notary’s signature are not mandatory. It depends on the joint decision of the buyer and the seller. You can fill out the form yourself in advance or do it together in the presence of a notary;

One copy is given to the seller (they need only one to confirm the transfer of rights or the occurrence of buyer’s dissatisfaction that not all the conditions were met after the transaction). Two other copies are sent to the buyer (one also for the legal settlement of disputes and another for registration after obtaining ownership rights);
  • In the seller’s copy, the second section might not be filled in. But in the buyer’s copies, sections from the first to the third one must be completely filled in;
  • The first section in the bill of sale is always devoted to the most important characteristics of the vehicle, such as model, body type, color, make, and year of manufacture. In addition, the information about the certificate of ownership is also a must;
  • Personal and contact information of both parties is needed (full name, address);
  • Another crucial component is the transaction data (date, price of the vehicle);
  • For the second section, you need to know the odometer readings. Make sure that the readings are accurate by the given date when you fill out the document;
  • In order for the bill of sale to be valid, both parties must confirm their intentions with signatures.
